Among the various regions tracked by in the federal data, the Central Atlantic saw the sharpest drop or 3.2 cents during the week. It was followed by the East Coast, which fell 2.8 cents, and New England, which fell 2.6 cents. The Midwest region rose 3.1 cents on the week.
All 50 states remained above the $3-per-gallon level, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report. Montana was the cheapest with a state average of $3.024 per gallon. Hawaii cross the $4-per-gallon level to top the list with a $4.020 average price.
The national average price of diesel fell 2.4 cents to $3.886. Diesel is now 0.8 cent lower that it was a year ago.
