Ford Pro is expanding its 5-year/100,000-mile Limited PowertrainWarranty to additional commercial vehicles starting with the 2027 model year, including the Ford Ranger and E-Transit.
The announcement was made by Ford Pro President Alicia Boler Davis during the company's Fleet Preview event in Las Vegas.
The Ranger, Maverick, and E-Transit will join Ford's existing lineup of commercial vehicles already covered by the Limited Powertrain Warranty, including 2022 and newer F-150, Super Duty, Transit, F-53/F-59 stripped chassis, and E-Series models.
According to Ford Pro, the expanded warranty is intended to help fleet operators reduce operating costs and improve vehicle uptime by limiting exposure to unexpected powertrain repair expenses. The company also points to the potential resale value benefit, as the warranty remains with the vehicle if it is sold before coverage expires.
Unlike many commercial vehicle warranties, the Limited Powertrain Warranty transfers with the vehicle, including when it is sold to a non-fleet owner before the warranty term ends.
Why is Ford Expanding the Limited Powertrain Warranty?
Ford says the move further reinforces its position as the nation's commercial truck and van sales leader, a title the company has held for 41 consecutive years.
Commercial customers can qualify for the warranty by obtaining a Fleet Identification Number (FIN) code and purchasing eligible vehicles under a fleet sales classification. The coverage enhancement is exclusive to Ford Pro FIN code customers.
For fleets evaluating midsize pickups and electric cargo vans, the expanded warranty coverage adds another factor to consider when calculating long-term ownership costs and vehicle lifecycle planning.
