Ford Pro has achieved ISO 27001 certification, an internationally recognized standard for managing information security. This certification underscores Ford Pro’s commitment to data privacy and security as connected vehicle data continues to play a vital role in commercial fleet operations.
Ford Pro processes and analyzes more than a billion data points daily from its commercial vehicles through Ford Pro Intelligence, making data security a top priority.
The announcement was made on LinkedIn by Kevin Dunbar, general manager of Ford Pro Intelligence.
Strengthening Data Security for Connected Fleets
The ISO 27001 certification sets a high standard for the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer data. By achieving this certification, Ford Pro demonstrates its dedication to responsible data handling and security best practices.
The Ford Pro Intelligence platform, a cloud-based solution seamlessly integrated with our suite of software, leverages data from vehicle components, sensors, dashcams, and EV chargers to provide a comprehensive overview of fleet operations at a glance, every day, according to Ford Pro.
The Growing Importance of Telematics in Fleet Management
Businesses increasingly recognize the value of connected vehicle data in optimizing fleet performance. Fleet operators using Ford Pro’s software solutions gain insights into vehicle uptime, driver behavior, total cost of ownership, and emissions helping them reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and lower operating costs.
The telematics market continues to expand rapidly. According to Berg Insight, the number of active telematics systems in the Americas is projected to grow from 23.9 million units in 2023 to 43.5 million by 2028. Ford Pro is leading the charge in this growth, with a 27% increase in subscribers last year, reaching nearly 650,000.
Ford Pro’s Commitment to Secure, Intelligent Fleet Solutions
Ford Pro’s ISO 27001 certification applies to its telematics software solutions, including Ford Pro Telematics, Telematics Essentials, and E-Telematics. This certification validates the company’s rigorous security measures and commitment to protecting customer data.
"The future of fleet management is bright,” Dunbar noted. “Advancements in machine learning, predictive analytics, generative AI, real-time data availability, and evolving connectivity technologies will further enhance the capabilities of Ford Pro Intelligence, enabling us to better serve our customers and help them overcome their business challenges.”
