Ford will offer exclusive equipment to commercial fleet purchasers on 12 of its nameplates for the 2020 model year, including its refreshed Transit full-size van.

Much of the fleet-exclusive equipment will be available on all trim grades, while several features will be available to fleets on lower trim grades.

"Ford recognizes that fleet customers have very specific needs from their vehicles to get the job done right. We have developed close relationships with our fleet customers and dealer body, so we can incorporate their feedback directly into the product," said Malene Lane, Ford's fleet brand strategy manager. "This is why we offer features and options that at times are exclusive for these customers."

Fleet managers who order Ford's 2020 Transit can add configurable daytime running lights, a decal, orange seat belts, smart acceleration truncation, and a top-speed limiter set at 65 mph or 75 mph. Smart acceleration truncation is a function that reduces engine torque when the van is unloaded or partially loaded to save fuel. The side-view mirrors can also be deleted during ordering.

Exclusive equipment for the Transit Connect includes the 2.5L iVCT inline-four-cylinder, a top-speed limiter set at 65 mph or 75 mph, and a gaseous prep package. Fleet buyers can delete the third row.

Ford's E-450 chassis cab van can be ordered without the engine console cover and add-ons such as a heavier front-axle gross axle weight rating and top speed limiter at 65 mph or 75 mph.

For its truck lineup, Ford is offering exclusive equipment on its Ranger, F-150, Super Duty pickups, and Super Duty chassis cabs.

Options exclusive to the Ranger include an exterior backup alarm and amber LED warning strobes supplied by Sound Off Signal that includes a center high-mounted stop light bar and two forward facing interior mounted lights.

Equipment that's exclusive to fleet Ranger XL pickups and available on higher retail trims includes 17-inch aluminum wheels, cruise control, the Sync infotainment system, and the XL Power Equipment group. Fleets can also add 17-inch all-terrain tires.

Fleet-only features on the F-150 include a backup alarm system, configurable DRLs, and LED warning strobes. Fleets can add six features to XL including 17-inch, all-terrain tires, skid plates for the 4x4 model, the XL Power Equipment Group, an eight-way power driver's seat with power lumbar, and cruise control. The 3.0L Power Stroke diesel V-6 is available on fleet XL and XLT pickups.

With the F-250 and F-350 pickups, only fleet buyers can add configurable DRLs, speed limiting at 65 mph or 75 mph, an upfitter interface module, and the XL Décor Group. XL trims can add cruise control and power adjustable pedals.

For the Super Duty chassis cabs, fleets can add configurable DRLs, speed limiting at 65 mph or 75 mph, and smart acceleration truncation. The tire pressure monitoring system can be deleted.

Ford is also offering exclusive fleet content on its Fusion, Escape, Edge, Explorer, and Expedition.

The Fusion midsize sedan offers a fleet-exclusive engine in the 2.5L iVCT inline-four-cylinder (on SE), non-configurable DRLs, a mini spare tire on the gasoline S, SE, SEL, and Titanium models, and paint protection film. Options also available on higher retail trims include rear floor mats (S and SE) and a reverse sensing system (S).

The Escape compact SUV offers non-configurable DRLs and shares with higher retail trims privacy glass on the rear doors, quarter windows, and tailgate (on S) and a reverse sensing system on S, SE, and SE Sport.

Fleet buyers of the Edge midsize SUV can add non-configurable DRLs and (shared with higher retail trims) a 10-way power driver's seat and reverse sensing system on SE.

Explorer offers a fleet-exclusive powertrain in the 3.3L direct-injection V-6, as well as non-configurable DRLs. Fleets can add a 10-speed automatic transmission with a manual mode on XL.
