Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will receive up to C$85.8 million ($66.7 million) in grant funding from the Ontario, Canada, government to invest in the Windsor Assembly Plant that's building the Chrysler Pacifica minivan.
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne announced the funding at a June 15 press conference. FCA will use the funds for employee training and upgrades for the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan at the plant. About C$16.8 million will be used for research at FCA's Automobile Research and Development Centre (ARDC) that opened in 1996.
