Keynote Speaker
Eric Pike, Chairman and CEO of Pike Corporation, will be the Keynote Speaker at the 2016 Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference. With over 7,000 employees, Pike Corporation, which includes Pike Electric, UC Synergetic, and Power Contracting, is a leading national and international supplier of engineering, construction, and maintenance and storm restoration services for the power and communications industry. Eric Pike, a third generation family member who has been with the company for 26 years, transitioned the company from a regional family held business to a NYSE listed public company and back to a private corporation.

A partner with Climaction Services and a part-time CBC meteorologist, Abraham remains active in a variety of weather, climate, and hydrological-related activities, is a volunteer Board Member of the Canadian Climate Forum and Chapter President with the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.

Fleet Electrification
Kellen Schefter, Manager Sustainable Technology, Edison Electric Institute (EEI) discusses the latest issues being addressed by the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies, 70 international electric companies and 270 industry suppliers and related organizations. Paul Jefferson from OG&E will provide an overview of his company’s experience electrifying a portion of its fleet and Jordan Smith from Southern California Edison will review the fleet’s performance testing and analysis of plug-in hybrid trucks.

Blinded in an accident on the job at a coal-fired power plant, this year’s speaker, Tony Crow, founder of the non-profit corporation INJAM-It’s Not Just About Me, will share humor and real-life stories about how he is living as a blind person in a sighted world.

Developing a Great Team
NFL Legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Mike Singletary will address EUFMC as the featured dinner speaker during the 2016 conference. Drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1981, Singletary became a starter in the Bears lineup in his rookie season, went on to start 172 games for the team during his 12-year career, and finished as the Bears’ first or second leading tackler each of his last 11 seasons. Selected to play in a team record 10 Pro Bowls, Singletary was All-Pro eight times, All-NFC every year from 1983 until 1991, and was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1985 and 1988. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
