Typically thieves break into a business property, but for the last three weeks in Branford, Conn., they’re taking a different route and are instead breaking into business fleets, according to the local broadcast station at WTNH.com.

Most of the victims, the article cites, are in the construction industry. Thieves are stealing equipment, building materials and even in one case a large saw was taken.

The police department sent out an alert to local business owners via phone messages. Police are recommending that companies park their vehicles indoors or in a locked and well-lit lot and to empty their vehicles of all equipment every night.
