MT. LAUREL, NJ - Automotive Resources International (ARI), a global provider of complex car and truck fleet solutions, proudly joined a group of 120 volunteers organized by CSX Transportation to help rehabilitate Solo Gibbs Park in Baltimore, Md.
Members from ARI's railroad team--including Rich Denning, Account Executive, and Jim Keller, Fleet Administrator--joined its client's employees and other vendors to CSX, plus community members and a crew of midshipmen from the U.S. Naval Academy to participate in CSX-City Year Service Day. They planted trees, landscaped the park, renovated a playground, built park benches and picnic tables, and painted a mural.
"We support CSX's commitment to replenishing the environment," said Scott Throckmorton, ARI manager of railroad & specialty fleets. "Our railroad team enjoyed spending the day side-by-side with the folks from CSX and the rest of the volunteers. We thank CSX and City Year for organizing this event and inviting us to participate."
The event was part of CSX Transportation's Trees for Tracks Program, which aims to plant 22,000 trees--one for each mile of track they operate--and it was organized with help from City Year, a service organization that organizes young people to get involved in their communities.
