Acela Truck Company has entered a dealer agreement with Firefighter One (FF1) to distribute Acela’s Monterra line of extreme-duty, high water/flood rescue trucks throughout the New Jersey and Delaware region.

The two companies are partnering to offer high water flood rescue trucks and wildland fire trucks, expanding Acela Truck Company’s distribution footprint and FF1’s product offerings.

“FF1 is excited to add the Acela Monterra line of high-water flood rescue trucks to our product offerings,” said Jonathon Van Norman, president of FF1. “With flooding events becoming commonplace on the East Coast, FF1 has recognized an increasing demand for more purpose-built, modern, and reliable flood rescue trucks. We know these catastrophic events are coming and it’s time to prepare with the right equipment.”

Why Did FF1 Select the Acela Monterra? 

According to a release, FF1 found the Acela Monterra to be the best solution for its needs in today’s market.

“Our customers demand modern, comfortable, safe, and purpose-built solutions. Repurposing and maintaining old and unreliable surplus military trucks isn’t what our first responders need,” Van Norman added.

Some of the top rescue-related features of the Acela Monterra include:

• 46-inch tires.

• All-wheel drive.

• 50-inch water fording capability.

• Central tire inflation system.

These features are a solid fit for flood rescue response, and Van Norman noted can easily serve double duty as wildland/brush trucks outside of flood/hurricane season.
