The new 2013-MY Ram 1500 has recently been named in two awards: AOL Autos' "Truck of the Year" and Four Wheeler Magazine's "Pickup Truck of the Year."
Award from AOL Autos
AOL Autos editors test drive and report on every new truck, car and SUV.
"The quality of new trucks has never been higher and our job of separating the wheat from the chaff has never been more difficult," said David Kiley — chief automotive editor for AOL Autos.
AOL editors applauded the new Ram for a smooth ride, new 8-speed powertrain with best-in-class fuel economy, exclusive RamBox storage bins and a vastly improved interior.
"We're extremely pleased that AOL Autos, a well-known source for automotive information, has deemed the 2013 Ram 1500 as their choice for Truck of the Year," said Fred Diaz, president and CEO Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico, Chrysler Group LLC. "A recommendation from AOL is fantastic news for our dealers and customers, and further recognizes Ram Truck for delivering uncompromising high quality, capability and technology."
Award from Four Wheeler Magazine
Four Wheeler Magazine, an off-road enthusiast publication, named the new 2013 Ram 1500 its 24th annual Pickup Truck of the Year.
“Our readers use their trucks, sometimes in much harsher duty cycles than most would expect,” said John Cappa, editor if Four Wheeler Magazine. “Within our testing, we integrate a number of challenges to push capability and durability."
The competition takes place over five days and 1,000 miles, providing the panel of seven judges an opportunity to experience every plausible condition from city gridlock to technical trails. Judges tested each vehicle’s performance, comfort and design.
“Pickup Truck of the Year from Four Wheeler Magazine recognizes the engineering efforts put forth to mold the new 2013 Ram 1500 and we’re honored to carry the title,” Diaz said. “A large percentage of our customers are outdoor enthusiasts, making this award very well-received in a fiercely competitive truck market.”
