2.7L TurboMax

The 2.7L TurboMax returns with updates for 2027 and is now paired with a 10-speed transmission.

Chevrolet says the engine will continue to deliver best-in-class standard torque based on its current competitive comparisons, although final 2027 horsepower and torque specifications have not yet been announced.

Next-Generation 5.7L and 6.6L V-8 Engines

Chevrolet is replacing its previous V-8 offerings with new 5.7L and 6.6L V-8 engines developed for the next-generation Silverado.

The company says both engines were redesigned from the ground up and will deliver increased power and torque. Chevrolet also says the 2027 Silverado will offer the most powerful naturally aspirated V-8 in its class, based on GM-estimated ratings and current competitive information. Final output figures have not yet been released.

The engines will be assembled at GM facilities in Flint, Michigan; Tonawanda, New York; and St. Catharines, Ontario.

3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel

The 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel continues as the diesel option for the 2027 Silverado 1500. Chevrolet has not yet announced final 2027 output, towing, payload, fuel-economy, or configuration information for the diesel powertrain.

2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Lineup

Chevrolet lists seven primary Silverado 1500 trims for 2027:

  • Work Truck
  • Custom
  • Custom Trail Boss
  • Silverado
  • Trail Boss
  • ZR2
  • High Country

The Silverado trim replaces LT in the 2027 lineup. Chevrolet says the revised trim structure is intended to create a clearer progression between work-focused, value, off-road, and premium versions of the truck.

The Work Truck trim remains the model most directly aimed at commercial fleets. Custom continues as a value-focused model, while Custom Trail Boss provides the entry point into the factory-lifted lineup.

Silverado 4WD models receive the Z71 package as standard equipment, including skid plates, hill descent control, and off-road suspension.

Trail Boss includes a 2-inch factory lift and 34-inch mud-terrain tires. ZR2 also receives a 2-inch lift but moves to 35-inch mud-terrain tires, front and rear electronic locking differentials, and Multimatic DSSV dampers paired with jounce dampers.
High Country remains the premium Silverado model. For 2027, it includes 22-inch wheels and a panoramic sunroof as standard equipment. The panoramic sunroof is also available on Silverado, Trail Boss, and ZR2.

Payload Towing and Weight

Chevrolet has not yet announced final towing, payload, GVWR, or GCWR specifications for the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500.

A Max Trailering package will continue to be offered and includes an extra-capacity cooling system. Additional package equipment and the configurations required to achieve the truck’s maximum trailer rating have not yet been released.

Axles and Drivetrain

Complete axle ratios and drivetrain combinations for the 2027 Silverado 1500 have not yet been announced.

Chevrolet has confirmed several drivetrain-related features on individual trims. Silverado models equipped with 4WD receive the Z71 package as standard equipment, including skid plates, hill descent control, and off-road suspension.

ZR2 includes standard front and rear electronic locking differentials along with its 2-inch factory lift, 35-inch mud-terrain tires, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and jounce dampers.

Fleet and Work-Related Features

Chevrolet is specifically positioning the 2027 Silverado 1500 Work Truck around fleet durability and uptime. The company says the next-generation V-8 engines are being tuned around durability, serviceability, and consistency for fleet applications. Work Truck configurations are also being developed to accommodate common upfits for construction, utility, municipal, and commercial fleets.

The Work Truck interior continues to prioritize function, with surfaces and layouts Chevrolet describes as easy to clean and straightforward for drivers to learn. That can be particularly useful for fleets where drivers regularly move between vehicles rather than operating one assigned truck.

Multi-Flex Center Console

A new available Multi-Flex Center Console adds another work-focused feature inside the truck.

The center console can fold flat to create a sturdy, ergonomic workspace, giving drivers a surface that can be used when completing paperwork or other tasks from the cab.

Chevrolet has not yet announced trim and configuration availability for every version of the console.

Towing Technology

The 2027 Silverado 1500 continues to combine traditional trailering equipment with available driver-assistance technology.

Super Cruise with trailering allows compatible Silverado models to operate hands-free on compatible roads while towing. Chevrolet notes that Lane Change on Demand and Automatic Lane Change are not available while trailering.
Super Cruise is standard on High Country and ZR2 and available on Silverado and Trail Boss. Continued use after the initial three-year included period requires an eligible Super Cruise plan.

2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Technology Fit for Fleets

Every 2027 Silverado 1500 receives a 16.3-inch center display and 12.2-inch Driver Information Center as standard equipment.

For fleets operating trucks across several trims, the move to a common digital interface should give drivers a more consistent experience when moving between vehicles. Chevrolet says the system supports navigation, media, vehicle information, and available trailering technologies.

An available 11.5-inch front passenger display joins the system on upper trims. Chevrolet notes that the passenger screen is positioned so it is not visible to the driver.

OnStar Basics

OnStar Basics is standard for eight years on the 2027 Silverado.

Chevrolet says the package includes core technology, connectivity, and entertainment features, including remote commands, automatic crash response, in-vehicle apps, built-in voice assistance, real-time navigation, and access to audio streaming apps.

Safety and Driver Assistance Technology

Chevrolet is also expanding the amount of safety and driver-assistance technology included as standard equipment for 2027.

Standard features include:

  • Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking.
  • Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking.
  • Side Bicyclist Alert.
  • Reverse Automatic Braking.
  • Safety Alert Seat.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control.
  • IntelliBeam.
  • Front and Rear Park Assist.
  • Forward Collision Alert.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Braking.
  • Blind Zone Steering Assist.

2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Pricing Ordering and Availability

The next-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is expected to become available in late 2026. As of publication, Chevrolet has not yet announced MSRP, individual trim pricing, fleet pricing, or detailed order-bank information. Additional availability and pricing information will be released later in 2026.

Pricing, incentives, fleet programs, and individual configuration pricing can change throughout the model year, so fleets should verify current pricing and order information for the exact vehicle being ordered.

Previous Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Model Years

As new Silverado 1500 model years are introduced, Work Truck will retain the most important fleet-relevant information from previous years here. Older model years will be condensed to highlight major changes, capability, powertrain updates, and other information that may still matter to fleets operating or purchasing those trucks.
