When it comes to knowing what trucks and vans will be available for your commercial work truck fleets in 2023, it can be hard to keep up. Throughout the year there are numerous updates, new models, and discontinuations.

Ford Motor Company

The 2023 Ford Super Duty F-550 Chassis Cab and Ford F-450 XL will be available in early 2023 (preproduction models shown).

Ford continued to lead the full-size truck market share in 2021 and will offer the all-new Super Duty in 2023. The automaker made a huge splash this year with the launches of the all-electric Ford Lightning and its commercial business, Ford Pro earlier in 2022.
For 2023 truck models, Ford will be offering the following:

After more than 20 years since the introduction of the Freightliner M2, the company’s medium-duty and vocational SD models are getting updated for 2023. New for 2023 is the introduction of the Plus series, an enhanced version designed to improve comfort and increase productivity.

General Motors

First introduced in 2019, Chevrolet will continue to offer its 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD Silverado models in 2023.

General Motors continues to innovate, offering a variety of Chevrolet and GMC truck models for commercial fleets. In 2023, the automaker is adding a new Low Cab Forward 7500 XD Diesel offering as well as refreshed Low Cab Forward 3500 Gas and 4500 Gas models.
For 2023, General Motors has the following trucks available:

Hino Trucks

The Hino L Series replaces the truckmaker’s conventional lineup and includes the L6 and L7 models.

For the 2023 model year, Hino Trucks has simplified its offering of truck models, removing its cab-over and previous conventional models from the lineup.
The L Series offers both extended cab and crew cab configurations.

International Truck

The light- and medium-duty truck offering from International, the CV Series, can be utilized for various vocational applications, from snowplows to emergency services.

While many know International for its over-the-road trucks, the truck manufacturer also offers medium-duty options perfect for the vocational work truck fleet.

Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc.

The Isuzu NPR-XD and NPR-HD are Class 4 medium-duty trucks utilized by such fleets as Bottle Logic Brewing and will be available for the 2023-model year.

Isuzu continues to focus on gasoline and diesel powertrain options for commercial work truck fleets, including its F-Series lineup.

Kenworth has been focusing on driver education and helping truck fleets build better trucks in 2022, launching its Driver Academy video series and Body Builder manual.

Mack Trucks

Mack Trucks entered the medium-duty market in 2020 and continues to offer the Mack MD6 and MD7 (pictured) for 2023.

First launched in 2020, Mack’s entry into the medium-duty truck market has continued to solidify. Early in 2022, the company hit a milestone production of the 5,000th MD Series truck at the Roanoke Valley Operations facility.
For 2023, the truck maker will continue to offer the following:

Mercedes-Benz Vans

Mercedes-Benz Vans continue to offer a variety of cargo and work vans in both Sprinter and Metris configurations for 2023.

For 2023, Mercedes-Benz Vans made a few updates, including the launch of a new powerful and more efficient four-cylinder diesel engine in the Sprinter van; the higher output variant will replace the six-cylinder diesel engine. Additionally, the van manufacturer has transitioned away from the previous 7G-TRONIC transmission, now offering a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC standard on all variants. Finally, all-wheel drive (AWD) will replace the last 4x4 system.

The Nissan Frontier was the 5-millionth vehicle off the Canton Assembly Plant in 2022.

Nissan continues to offer pickup truck models for commercial fleets, although it no longer offers any van models for 2023. In October, Nissan produced its 5-millionth vehicle at the Canton Assembly Plant: a Nissan Frontier.
Nissan will be offering the following trucks for the 2023 model year in a variety of trim levels and configurations:

Peterbilt Motors Co.

Peterbilt’s non-CDL Class 6 Model 536 is one of the two medium-duty models to offer the Cummins B6.7 natural gas engine.

One big medium-duty news announcement from Peterbilt in 2022 was the addition of the Cummins B6.7N natural gas engine to its medium-duty Models 536 and 537.
For 2023, Peterbilt will offer the following medium-duty truck models:

Ram Trucks (Stellantis)

The 2023 Ram 1500 Tradesman is the truck’s base model featuring a 3.6L V-6 engine and towing up to 7,740 lbs.

Ram Trucks have maintained a significant portion of the truck market share, taking the second spot in sales in 2021.
This year’s big news is the discontinuation of the Ram ProMaster City production at the end of the 2022 calendar year and the last call for the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel in January 2023.
For the 2023 model year, Ram will offer the following vehicles:

Toyota Motor North America

The 2023 Toyota Tundra will feature an all-new SX appearance package.

Celebrating 50 years in North America in 2022, the Toyota Tundra was the only truck to earn a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS in 2022. The Tundra received significant updates for the 2022 model year and has minor updates for 2023.

Pitt Ohio is among the fleets adopting Volvo VNR electric medium-duty trucks into their fleets

Primarily a heavy-duty truck manufacturer, Volvo Trucks does offer one medium-duty Class 7 truck that will be available for the 2023 model year:
Volvo VNR Electric Straight Truck
Moving into the electric side of medium-duty truck fleets, Volvo also announced the ability for VNR electric customers to acquire chargers directly from dealers.
