Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) just rolled its 850,000th truck off the line at its Cleveland, North Carolina, plant — a Western Star 47X headed to longtime customer Alamo Group.

The truck will be used by Alamo Group’s Snow & Ice Team, which manufactures equipment for municipal, highway, and airport winter operations. The team offers everything from plow trucks to de-icing systems to keep roads and runways clear.

Headquartered in Seguin, Texas, Alamo Group includes 40+ brands and employs more than 3,750 people.

“Alamo Group has been a valued partner for many years, and we’re proud to support their mission with our most advanced vocational trucks,” said David Carson, SVP of Sales and Marketing at DTNA. “The Western Star 47X is purpose-built for demanding applications like snow and ice management.”

DTNA and Alamo Group Expand Vocational Truck Partnership

The partnership between DTNA and Alamo Group has grown over the past decade from individual division orders to a national account. Today, Alamo Group is one of Western Star’s top vocational customers.

“The 47X is a critical part of our portfolio, and our customers value the reliability, performance, and support that comes with it,” said Jean Philippe Bourque, group VP of Alamo Group’s Snow and Ice Division.

Powered by a Detroit DD13 engine, the Western Star 47X is known for durability, performance, and safety in extreme conditions. DTNA calls it the perfect fit for snow and ice removal crews.
