The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), the ASE Education Foundation, and WrenchWay, have partnered to promote School Assist as the industry solution connecting vehicle service employers and schools in finding classroom resources and creating the workforce pipeline of the future for the transportation industry.
“At ASE, we recognize the critical importance of connecting schools with the transportation industry to ensure the next generation of service professionals are well-prepared for the workforce,” said Dave Johnson, president and CEO of ASE. “This partnership underscores our commitment to solving the technician shortage by bringing industry and education together to create local solutions for a national problem.”
Connecting Schools to the Transportation Industry
WrenchWay, an online community dedicated to promoting and improving technician careers, created School Assist to make it easier for high schools and post-secondary schools to work with the industry.
Schools can use WrenchWay to make requests for guest speakers, shop tours, tool donations, internships and more. Shops, dealerships and others can easily scroll through the requests, connect with schools and start a relationship that will build their future workforce from students enrolled in these programs.
School Assist also allows industry members to post available resources for educators, enabling schools to reach out on the platform and collaborate on opportunities that will benefit students and potential employers.
ASE Accredited Programs Invited to Join
The School Assist platform currently has over 1,100 participating schools across the country. Through this partnership, the ASE Education Foundation will invite its 2,000 ASE-accredited training programs to join the platform for free.
School Assist Access Through Top Shop
Currently, 1,000 shops and dealerships have access to School Assist through WrenchWay’s Top Shop membership program. As part of this ASE partnership, a new lower cost option will be available to shops, dealerships, and other industry partners who want to connect with schools through School Assist, but do not need the full WrenchWay Top Shop program.
“ASE’s commitment to helping create the next generation of certified technicians is unparalleled along with their industry-standard accreditation and Adopt-A-School program, bringing employers and educators together,” said Mark Wilson, co-founder and CEO of WrenchWay. “We are thrilled to join forces on School Assist and other industry initiatives.”
ASE and WrenchWay will work together to continue growing School Assist as the go-to solution for both schools and industry partners. This includes joint marketing efforts and collaborative product development.
