Kyle Kimball with Kenworth shares a first look at the Kenworth T380 powered by the new Cummins B6.7 Octane gasoline engine. Debuting at the NTEA Work Truck Show, this early test truck highlights what’s coming for fleets in 2026.

\With diesel engine availability tightening in California, this gasoline option fills the gap — offering between 200–300 horsepower and designed to be CARB-compliant for EPA 2027.

Kimball walks through key specs, including:

  • Simplified emissions system without a DPF or SCR

  • Fuel tank options (45, 60, or 80 gallons)

  • Rear-mounted fuel tank and flexible fill neck design

  • Pairing with the 8-speed TX-8 Paccar automatic transmission

This Kenworth setup is built for lighter-duty Class 5 and 6 vocational applications and gives fleets a forward-looking solution that meets evolving emissions regulations.
