A long-time employee of Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) was reportedly dragged out of his utility truck and assaulted by three individuals on Aug. 19 in Hartford after a minor car accident, according to several news sources.
Police found 59-year-old Aldo Godenzi about 10:45 a.m. sitting in the grass in the area of Blue Hills Avenue and Tower Avenue, bleeding from his forehead, reported The Courant.
Police have since arrested one of the individuals involved in the incident, a 21-year-old woman named Chambriell Strickland. Police are still searching for the other two men involved, one of whom is reported to be Strickland’s brother.
According to the incident report obtained by NBC Connecticut, Godenzi was turning right when he was cut off and pulled over behind a Nissan Maxima parked on the curb.
Strickland, who was on the lawn outside her home on Blue Hills Avenue, told police the MDC truck struck the Nissan's back bumper. Her brother was driving the vehicle and had her young niece in the car as well. In the report, Strickland said she approached Godenzi, grabbed him and punched him in the face. Two men in the Maxima then dragged Godenzi out of his truck and into the street, punching and kicking him repeatedly, according to the report. They fled the scene when two bystanders approached to break up the fight, according to the report.
Godenzi was treated for bruises and cuts on his upper body and face at Saint Francis Hospital, according to the report. Family members told NBC Connecticut he's expected to make a full recovery.
Authorities are still looking for the driver and male passenger, according to news sources.
