Toyota Motor Sales USA said it is recalling approximately 130,000 2014 model-year Tundra CrewMax Cab and Double Cab trucks because the air bags may not inflate properly in the event of a crash.
A garnish on the center pillars – a plastic panel -- might have been installed incorrectly and might interfere with the side curtain shield air bags during deployment, Toyota said in a released statement.
The automaker added that it’s not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities caused by this condition. To remedy the problem, Toyota dealers will inspect the center pillar garnishes. Any installed incorrectly will be replaced with new ones.
