Medium-duty news and announcements flowed freely in 2024. However, announcements and milestones from battery-electric truck producers dominated the most-read medium-duty news items for Work Truck.
But internal combustion engine (ICE) trucks were still in the mix. The two most-read news stories were about ICE vehicles, the updates to the Mack MD, and the Isuzu N-Series Class 5 Gas Truck capturing top honors as Medium Duty Truck of the Year.
Among the battery-electric truck brands most announced firsts, such as the start of production, the first dealer agreement, or the first truck deliveries to particular countries, regions, or states.
However, one powertrain producer stepped up the game to rebrand as a truck OEM and launch its first truck designed from the ground up as a battery-electric platform.
