The Castrol Tection Extra Big Honkin' Truck Makeover Winner Takes the Prize at Truck Beauty Contest
The 2005 winner of the Castrol Tection Extra Big Honkin' Truck Makeover contest, Jeff Fields, was recently named the runner-up in the "Antique Non-Working" category for this year's Overdrive Pride & Polish Truck Beauty Contest at the Great American Trucking Show held in Dallas, Texas. This is the seventh year for the annual Overdrive Pride & Polish competition at the Great American Trucking Show. The trucks that competed were judged based on criteria including: appearance, quality, cleanliness, originality and tastefulness. Fields, an owner-operator from Tully, N.Y., won the grand prize in the Big Honkin' Truck Makeover Contest in August 2005 during a public voting held at the Great American Trucking Show. Field's 1979 Peterbilt 352H received a $50,000 interior, exterior and communications makeover customized by the infamous "Chrome Shop Mafia," the big rig truck mechanics and stars of the Country Music Television (CMT) series "Trick My Truck." "The Big Honkin' Truck Makeover contest provides a stunning renovation for a truck in need," said Dave Gannon, Director of Marketing for Castrol. "We are thrilled that Jeff's truck is getting the recognition it deserves. His win reinforces Castrol's dedication to owner/operators and we are looking forward to viewing all the exciting entries from this year's contest." Entries for the Big Honkin' Truck Makeover are being accepted through October 31, 2006, so eligible participants with ailing vehicles are encouraged to enter the contest online at www.castrol.com/truckmakeover while there is still time. Entrants will be required to submit a vehicle photo and a 50 word essay describing why he or she deserves the coveted grand prize. About BP Lubricants USA Inc.
