Smith System, specializing in professional driver training, on Oct. 31 announced that it has added four professional trainers, a regional sales manager and a sales assistant in response to the growing demand for its services. The new trainers include Michael Berry of Ohio, Joseph Maun of Illinois, Donald Converse of California and George "Stan" Weik of Texas. They will be responsible for both seminar and direct driver training for commercial fleet drivers. In addition, Lee Evenson joined the company as regional sales manager for the Central Mountain Region. His territory consists of Utah, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico and Kansas. Prior to working for Smith System, Evenson sold products to the traffic safety industry and was formerly a driver and safety committee chairperson for UPS. Evenson will also become a Smith certified instructor in November. Smith System also added Karen Carroll as sales assistant.
