In October 2025, what recalls are out there that you need to know about, and which ones might impact your fleet? Work Truck has the answers in this comprehensive overview of recent recalls issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recalls are categorized as either pickup truck, van, and SUV recalls, or medium- and heavy-duty truck recalls, and the manufacturers are listed in alphabetical order.

Pickup Truck, Van & SUV

Chrysler

  • Recall Number: 88C

  • Vehicles: 2022-2024 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer

  • Potential Units Affected: 123,396

  • Component: Structure

  • Breakdown: The quarter trim on the driver and passenger windows may not have been properly secured, which can allow it to detach.

  • Solution: The remedy is currently under development. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed Nov. 14, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available.

  • Recall Number: 77C

  • Vehicles: 2022-2025 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer

  • Potential Units Affected: 163,735

  • Component: Structure

  • Breakdown: The trim on the driver and passenger doors may not have been installed properly, which can allow it to detach.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the door trim, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Sept.25, 2025

  • Recall Number: 83C, 91C, and 92C

  • Vehicles: 2018 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,761

  • Component: Air bags

  • Breakdown: The right and left side curtain air bag inflators may rupture due to a manufacturing defect.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace one or both side curtain air bags, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Sept. 25, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 73C

  • Vehicles: 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV)

  • Potential Units Affected: 91,787

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: A software error within the hybrid control processor may result in a loss of drive power.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the hybrid control processer software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 23, 2025. 

  • Recall Number: 71C

  • Vehicles: 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S 

  • Potential Units Affected: 8

  • Component: Structure

  • Breakdown: The vehicles are equipped with an incorrect cross car beam in the instrument panel.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the cross beam, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 24, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 63C

  • Vehicles: 024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger

  • Potential Units Affected: 75

  • Component: Powertrain

  • Breakdown: An incorrectly installed spring may cause the loss of the park function when the vehicle’s gear selector is placed in the park (P) position, which can result in a vehicle rollaway. 

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the electric drive module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Sept. 25, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 82C, 86C, and 87C

  • Vehicles: 2025 Pacifica and Voyager

  • Potential Units Affected: 985

  • Component: Air bags

  • Breakdown: The right and left side curtain air bags may have insufficient pressure retention from improperly sealed seams.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the side curtain air bags, as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct.14, 2025.

Daimler Van

  • Recall Number: N/A

  • Vehicles: 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and Sprinter 3500

  • Potential Units Affected: 4

  • Component: Structure

  • Breakdown: The longitudinal frame members may not be reinforced properly.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and repair the frame, as necessary, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed Nov. 7, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated November 2025.

Ford

  • Recall Number: 22S36 and 22S48

  • Vehicles: 2020 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator

  • Potential Units Affected: 4,632

  • Component: Engine 

  • Breakdown: A short circuit within the battery junction box can cause an engine fire while driving or parked.

  • Solution: Owners are advised to park their vehicles outside and away from structures and other vehicles, until the remedy is performed. Dealers will inspect and replace the battery junction box, as necessary, and remove a ground wire. On models equipped with standard-duty radiator fan motors, dealers will also install an auxiliary electrical box with a wire jumper. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed Sept. 25, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S94

  • Vehicles: 2020-2021 F-250, F-350, and F-450

  • Potential Units Affected: 115,539

  • Component: Steering

  • Breakdown: The steering column upper shaft may detach from the steering column and result in a loss of steering control.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect the steering column, and repair or replace the upper shaft as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed Oct. 6, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated December 2025

  • Recall Number: 25S95

  • Vehicles: 2023-2024 Transit

  • Potential Units Affected: 212

  • Component: Steering, tires

  • Breakdown: An incorrect steering coupler cover and tires that were not designed for the vehicle may have been installed during a previous repair.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and if necessary, replace the tires, tire placard, and certification label, and also recalibrate the vehicle. Additionally, dealers will remove the steering coupler cover. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed Oct. 13, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated March 2026.

  • Recall Number: 25S90

  • Vehicles: 2024 Bronco and Ranger

  • Potential Units Affected: 9

  • Component: Fuel system, gasoline

  • Breakdown: The bolts securing the high-pressure fuel pump may not be tightened properly, which can result in a fuel leak.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the high-pressure fuel pump mounting bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Sept. 25, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S89

  • Vehicles: 015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,456,417

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed Sept. 29, 2025. Additional letters will be mailed once the remedy is available.

General Motors

  • Recall Number: N252512770

  • Vehicles: 2021 Cadillac Escalade, 2021, 2023-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2022 and 2024 GMC Yukon

  • Potential Units Affected: 12

  • Component: Fuel system, diesel

  • Breakdown: The original fuel tank may have been replaced with an incorrect fuel tank, which can allow fuel to leak in a rollover crash.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect for the correct fuel tank and replace it, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 3, 2025.

  • Recall Number: N252515340

  • Vehicles: 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,191

  • Component: Electronic stability control (ESC)

  • Breakdown: After experiencing an electronic stability control (ESC) system malfunction, the ESC malfunction warning light may not illuminate on the next key cycle. 

  • Solution: The EBCM software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 27, 2025.

Toyota

  • Recall Number: Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB08 and 25TA08. Lexus' numbers for this recall are 25LB05 and 25LA05.

  • Vehicles: 2023-2024 Toyota Venza, 2023-2025 RAV4 Prime, RAV4, Highlander, GR Corolla, Crown, 2024-2025 Lexus TX, LS, Toyota Tacoma, Grand Highlander, and 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV 4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and 4 Runner

  • Potential Units Affected: 591,377

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: Due to an error in the instrument panel software at vehicle startup, the instrument panel may fail to display vehicle speed, brake system, and tire pressure warning lights.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the instrument panel software for non-PHEV vehicles, free of charge. For PHEV vehicles, dealers will inspect the instrument panel assembly, and either replace it, or update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 27, 2025.

Medium- & Heavy-Duty Recalls

Altec

  • Recall Number: CSN-3251

  • Vehicles: 2023-2025 Aerial Device and 2025 Digger Derrick

  • Potential Units Affected: 15

  • Component: Equipment

  • Breakdown: The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label may be incorrect, leading to the vehicle being unintentionally overloaded.

  • Solution: Altec will inspect and replace the labels as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 14, 2025.

  • Recall Number: CSN-3247

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 Altec Aerial Device and Digger Derrick 

  • Potential Units Affected: 19

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The chassis ignition circuit may be overloaded, which can result in a blown fuse and cause an engine shutdown.

  • Solution: Altec will replace the hydraulic tank heater relay, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 31, 2025.

  • Recall Number: CSN-3246

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and Service Body

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,352

  • Component: Structure

  • Breakdown: The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.

  • Solution: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 24, 2025.

Daimler Truck

  • Recall Number: D25R2

  • Vehicles: 2024-2026 Western Star 47X, Freightliner Business Class M2, FCCC MT55G, 2025-2026 Western Star 49X, Freightliner Cascadia, Freightliner 114SD, FCCC MT45G, FCCC S2RV106, 2026 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2, Freightliner eCascadia, FCCC S2C106, and Freightliner 108SD

  • Potential Units Affected: 343

  • Component: Steering

  • Breakdown: The tie rod castle nut and cotter pin may not be installed properly, which can result in a loss of vehicle steering control.

  • Solution: The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 10, 2025.

  • Recall Number: F1023

  • Vehicles: 2025 FCCC XCR, FCCC XBS, FCCC MT45, Western Star 57X, 2025-2026 Freightliner Business Class M2, Freightliner Cascadia, Freightliner 114SD, Freightliner 108SD, FCCC MT55G, FCCC MT45G, FCCC XCP, FCCC XCM, Western Star 49X, Western Star 47X, 2026 Freightliner Cascadia 5th Gen, FCCC MT55, and FCCC MT50E

  • Potential Units Affected: 380

  • Component: Service brakes, air

  • Breakdown: The brake caliper mounting bolts may loosen and detach, which can cause a loss of brake function and damage the tire and/or wheel.

  • Solution: The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 10, 2025.

Isuzu

  • Recall Number: V2504

  • Vehicles: 2022-2026 Isuzu FVR, Isuzu FTR, Chevrolet 6500XD, and 2023-2026 Chevrolet 7500XD

  • Potential Units Affected: 11,385

  • Component: Fuel system, other

  • Breakdown: The fuel heater may overheat, melting the casing and allowing fuel to leak into the electrical connector.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel heater and electrical connectors as necessary, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification.

Mack Trucks

  • Recall Number: SC0484

  • Vehicles: 2025-2026 Pioneer

  • Potential Units Affected: 156

  • Component: Exterior lighting

  • Breakdown: When towing a trailer, the trailer lights may fail to illuminate due to an improperly manufactured body control module.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the trailer body input/output module, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 17, 2025.

Orange EV

  • Recall Number: 2025-SRC-07

  • Vehicles: 2017-2024 T-Series, 2023-2025 e-TRIEVER, and HUSK-e

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,378

  • Component: Exterior lighting

  • Breakdown: The hazard warning lights may turn off when the ignition is in the 'Off' position.

  • Solution: OEV field service will install a new hazard light wire harness and update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by Oct. 31, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 2025-SRC-06

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 HUSK-e Tandem

  • Potential Units Affected: 16

  • Component: Powertrain

  • Breakdown: The driveshaft may contact and damage the passenger side brake chamber or brake chamber bracket.

  • Solution: OEV field service will inspect and replace the driveshaft and brake chamber components as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Sept. 19, 2025.

Paccar

  • Recall Number: 25PACG

  • Vehicles: 2024-2026 Kenworth T680, T880, and W990 

  • Potential Units Affected: 13,908

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The 15-inch digital display may fail to display warning lights or vehicle speed.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the vehicle display software, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification.

Reading Truck

  • Recall Number: N/A

  • Vehicles: 2023 Ram 4500 vehicles equipped with a Curt Hitch

  • Potential Units Affected: 10

  • Component: Trailer hitches

  • Breakdown: The trailer hitch may have been installed with too few mounting bolts, causing the assembly to loosen and detach.

  • Solution: Reading will replace the hitch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed September 2025.

Volvo Trucks

  • Recall Number: RVXX2507

  • Vehicles: 2025-2026 New VN

  • Potential Units Affected: 2,307

  • Component: Exterior lighting

  • Breakdown: When towing a trailer, the trailer lights may fail to illuminate due to an improperly manufactured body control module.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the trailer body input/output module, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 17, 2025. 

  • Recall Number: RVXX2508

  • Vehicles: 2026 New VN

  • Potential Units Affected: 3,609

  • Component: Latches/locks/linkages

  • Breakdown: The door latch cable on the interior door handle may be incorrectly installed, preventing the door from opening.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the door latch cable and pivot clip, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 17, 2025.
