In June 2025, what recalls are out there that you need to know about, and which ones might impact your fleet? Work Truck has the answers in this comprehensive overview of recent recalls issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recalls are categorized as either pickup truck, van, and SUV recalls, or medium- and heavy-duty truck recalls, and the manufacturers are listed in alphabetical order.

Pickup Truck, Van & SUV

Chrysler

  • Recall Number: 36C

  • Vehicles: Ram 2500 and Ram 3500

  • Potential Units Affected: 778

  • Component: Powertrain, electrical system

  • Breakdown: A software error may cause the gear selection display to be inaccurate.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the cluster software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 08C

  • Vehicles: 2019-2024 Ram 1500

  • Potential Units Affected: 71

  • Component: Air bags, electrical system

  • Breakdown: The driver's side air bag may not be connected properly, which can cause the air bag not to deploy as intended.

  • Solution: Dealers secured the connectors for the air bag, free of charge. All vehicles have been remedied. Owner notification letters were mailed May 27, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 40C

  • Vehicles: 2022-2025 Ram ProMaster

  • Potential Units Affected: 235,640

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: A software error in the security gateway module may cause the rearview camera image not to display. 

  • Solution: Dealers will update the security gateway module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 19, 2025.

Ford

  • Recall Number: 25S47

  • Vehicles: 2022-2024 Navigator and Expedition

  • Potential Units Affected: 273,789

  • Component: Service brakes, hydraulic

  • Breakdown: The front brake lines may contact the engine air cleaner outlet pipe and become damaged, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak and reduced brake function.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect the front brake line and replace the brake line or air cleaner outlet pipe, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed May 26, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S46

  • Vehicles: 2025 F-150

  • Potential Units Affected: 9,181

  • Component: Steering

  • Breakdown: The lower intermediate shaft fasteners may be improperly attached to the steering gear, allowing the shaft to come loose or detach.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the lower intermediate shaft fasteners as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed May 26, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S44

  • Vehicles: F-250 and F-350

  • Potential Units Affected: 5

  • Component: Fuel system, diesel

  • Breakdown: Cracked fuel return line connectors may leak fuel into the engine compartment.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the fuel return lines, free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed on May 19, 2025. 

  • Recall Number: 24V949

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 F-150 Lightning BEV

  • Potential Units Affected: 29,501

  • Component: Suspension

  • Breakdown: The front upper control arm ball joint nut may not have been tightened properly, allowing the front upper control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect the upper control arm ball joint nut, and replace the nut and/or knuckle assembly, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 9, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25C19

  • Vehicles: 2022-2023 Transit

  • Potential Units Affected: 3,506

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The instrument panel cluster may not properly illuminate warning lights or gauges.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the instrument panel cluster software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 23, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25C18

  • Vehicles: 2020-2023 Lincoln Aviator and Lincoln Corsair

  • Potential Units Affected: 3,227

  • Component: Seatbelts

  • Breakdown: When the driver's seat belt is not buckled and the vehicle is started, the seat belt warning system may activate the audible warning chime for an insufficient amount of time of less than 4 seconds.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the audio control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 23, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S43

  • Vehicles: 2025 Explorer and Aviator

  • Potential Units Affected: 206

  • Component: Structure

  • Breakdown: A mounting bolt for the front subframe may have been tightened improperly.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and tighten the subframe bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332. Owner notification letters were mailed May 21, 2025. 

  • Recall Number: 25S49

  • Vehicles: 2021-2024 Bronco, F-150, 2021-2024 Edge, 2023-2024 Escape, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, 2022-2024 Expedition, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023 Mach-E, 2024 Ranger, Mustang, 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus, 2022-2024 Navigator, and 2023-2024 Corsair

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,075,299

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: A software error may cause the rearview camera image to delay, freeze, or not display when the vehicle is in reverse.

  • Solution: The accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air update, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed June 16, 2025. A second letter will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated for third quarter 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25C15

  • Vehicles: 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning

  • Potential Units Affected: 6

  • Component: Electronic stability control

  • Breakdown: The SYNC software may fail to activate the electronic stability control (ESC) system at the beginning of each ignition cycle.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 9, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25C14

  • Vehicles: 2021-2022 Bronco

  • Potential Units Affected: 12,219

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: The rearview camera image may still be displayed after a backing event has ended. 

  • Solution: Dealers will update SYNC module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 9, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25C14

  • Vehicles: 2021-2022 Bronco

  • Potential Units Affected: 12,219

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: The rearview camera image may still be displayed after a backing event has ended. 

  • Solution: Dealers will update SYNC module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 9, 2025. 

  • Recall Number: 25S45

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 Bronco and Ranger

  • Potential Units Affected: 4,497

  • Component: Suspension

  • Breakdown: The front upper control arm ball joint fastener may be missing or tightened improperly, allowing the front upper control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and tighten, or replace the ball joint fastener as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 23, 2025.

General Motors

  • Recall Number: N252503580

  • Vehicles: 2025 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana

  • Potential Units Affected: 32

  • Component: Seats

  • Breakdown: The front passenger seat head restraint may have been improperly welded to the seat frame.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the front passenger seat frame, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 23, 2025.

Nissan

  • Recall Number: PD152 and PMA48

  • Vehicles: 2025 Frontier and Kicks

  • Potential Units Affected: 79,755

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: The center information display unit may display a blank screen when shifted into reverse. 

  • Solution: Dealers will update the software on the vehicle’s center information display, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 1, 2025.

Medium- & Heavy-Duty Recalls

Altec

  • Recall Number: CSN-3226

  • Vehicles: 2022-2024 TA Series, AT Series, L Series, LR Series Aerial Devices, and AF Series Forestry bodies

  • Potential Units Affected: 2,461

  • Component: Fuel system, diesel

  • Breakdown: The fuel lines may not be properly secured, which can cause the lines to chafe and result in a fuel leak.

  • Solution: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the fuel lines. If the lines are improperly secured, Altec will provide a kit to secure the lines. If the lines are damaged, the chassis manufacturer will repair the fuel lines. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 30, 2025.

Daimler Truck

  • Recall Number: F1019

  • Vehicles: 2025 Freightliner 114SD, Business Class M2, Cascadia, and Western Star 49X

  • Potential Units Affected: 68

  • Component: Service brakes, air

  • Breakdown: The air tank capacity may be too small, resulting in reduced braking performance.

  • Solution: The remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 6, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available.

  • Recall Number: F1020

  • Vehicles: 2020-2026 Western Star 49X and 2021-2026 Western Star 47X

  • Potential Units Affected: 21,560

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: A stud connecting the battery to the starter at the frame rail may have been incorrectly installed, which can cause a short circuit.

  • Solution: The remedy is currently under development. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification.

Isuzu

  • Recall Number: V2503

  • Vehicles: 2025 NRR-EV

  • Potential Units Affected: 73

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: A gap between the bus bar and connection terminal may cause the system to overheat and turn off the drive motor.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the sub-junction box. Dealers will inspect and replace the harness and motor/inverter as necessary. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 8, 2025. 

Mack Trucks

  • Recall Number: SC0478

  • Vehicles: 2026 Mack MD

  • Potential Units Affected: 42

  • Component: Seatbelts

  • Breakdown: The center bench seat belt assembly may be routed incorrectly.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 18, 2025.

Orange EV

  • Recall Number: N/A

  • Vehicles: 2024 HUSK-e, 2023-2025 e-TRIEVER, and 2017-2024 T-Series

  • Potential Units Affected: 301

  • Component: Exterior lighting, trailer hitches

  • Breakdown: The pintle hook partially blocks the center of the backup lights.

  • Solution: Orange EV service will replace the rear passenger taillight, free of charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed June 30, 2025.

Shyft Group

  • Recall Number: 25-10

  • Vehicles: 2025 Utilimaster Aeromaster

  • Potential Units Affected: 6

  • Component: Seatbelts

  • Breakdown: The rear seat belts may not have been installed.

  • Solution: Owners are advised not to allow passengers to sit in the rear seats until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will install the rear seat belt, free of charge. 

Volvo Trucks

  • Recall Number: RVXX2505

  • Vehicles: 2025-2026 Volvo VN

  • Potential Units Affected: 224

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The power cables may have been improperly routed, which can cause an electrical short.

  • Solution: Dealers will re-route the power cables, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 18, 2025.
