In August 2025, what recalls are out there that you need to know about, and which ones might impact your fleet? Work Truck has the answers in this comprehensive overview of recent recalls issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recalls are categorized as either pickup truck, van, and SUV recalls, or medium- and heavy-duty truck recalls, and the manufacturers are listed in alphabetical order.

Pickup Truck, Van & SUV

Chrysler

  • Recall Number: 20C

  • Vehicles: 2023-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L

  • Potential Units Affected: 121,398

  • Component: Seats

  • Breakdown: The second-row seat head restraints may not lock in the upright position. 

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace both second-row seat head restraints, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 5, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 57C

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 Chrysler Pacifica

  • Potential Units Affected: 21

  • Component: Equipment, back over prevention

  • Breakdown: The vehicles were built with an incorrect radio, which can cause the rearview camera image not to display.

  • Solution: Dealers replaced the radio, free of charge. All affected vehicles have been repaired. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 7, 2025.

Daimler Vans

  • Recall Number: VS2GARPIN

  • Vehicles: 2020-2023 Mercedes-Benz Metris

  • Potential Units Affected: 43,422

  • Component: Equipment, back over prevention

  • Breakdown: The electrical connections for the infotainment system may not be properly secured, which can cause the rearview camera image not to display.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and repair the infotainment system connection, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 5, 2025.

Ford

  • Recall Number: 25S51

  • Vehicles: 2025 Navigator and Expedition

  • Potential Units Affected: 171

  • Component: Air bags

  • Breakdown: The passenger side air bag may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause the air bag to deploy with excessive force during a crash.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the passenger side air bags, free of charge. Owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed Aug. 11, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S71

  • Vehicles: 2025 F-150 Lightning BEV

  • Potential Units Affected: 5

  • Component: Service brakes, hydraulic

  • Breakdown: The front brake jounce hose bracket screws may loosen and detach, which can allow the jounce hose to contact the tire and result in a brake fluid leak.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect the front brake hose and replace both brake jounce hose bracket screws, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S72

  • Vehicles: 2018-2022 Transit Connect, 2019-2020 MKZ, Edge, Continental, F-150, Nautilus, Fusion, 2019-2023 Ranger, Mustang, 2020-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator, 2020-2022 Escape, F-250 SD, Corsair, 2020-2023 Aviator, Transit, 2020-2024 Explorer, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick

  • Potential Units Affected: 200,061

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank image, or the image may remain on the display after the backing event has ended.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the rearview camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 28, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 23V687

  • Vehicles: 2022 Mustang Mach E

  • Potential Units Affected: 239

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The high voltage battery main contactors may overheat.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the high voltage battery junction box, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 10, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S75

  • Vehicles: 2021-2023 Bronco, Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, 2021-2022 Lincoln Navigator, Mustang, F-150, and 2022 Expedition

  • Potential Units Affected: 850,318

  • Component: Fuel system, gasoline

  • Breakdown: The low-pressure fuel pump may fail, which can result in an engine stall while driving.

  • Solution: The remedy is under development. Owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed July 16, 2025. Second letters will be sent once the remedy is available.

General Motors

  • Recall Number: N252503010

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV

  • Potential Units Affected: 40,233

  • Component: Parking brake

  • Breakdown: The rear parking brake wiring harness may become damaged or corroded, resulting in unintended activation of the parking brake or loss of the parking brake function.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect the harness and, if necessary, reroute the harness and install anti-abrasive tape. Any harness that has existing damage will be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 11, 2025.

  • Recall Number: N252513060

  • Vehicles: 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, 2019 Sierra 2500, 3500, Chevrolet Silverado 3500, and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,658

  • Component: Air bags

  • Breakdown: The left or right-side roof-rail air bag (RRAB) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator or the inflator sidewall may rupture.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the left and right side RRAB modules, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 23, 2025.

Medium- & Heavy-Duty Recalls

Autocar

  • Recall Number: ACTT-2504

  • Vehicles: 2012-2025 ACTT (Xspotter)

  • Potential Units Affected: 195

  • Component: Equipment

  • Breakdown: The tire inflation information label is incorrect.

  • Solution: Autocar will mail corrected labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 29, 2025.

  • Recall Number: ACTT-2503 and ACX-2503

  • Vehicles: 2015-2022 ACTT (Xspotter) and ACX (Xpeditor) 

  • Potential Units Affected: 49

  • Component: Service brakes, air

  • Breakdown: The air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. 

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace or add additional air tanks as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 29, 2025.

Daimler Truck

  • Recall Number: F1021

  • Vehicles: 2026 Freightliner Cascadia Fifth Gen

  • Potential Units Affected: 4

  • Component: Fuel system, other

  • Breakdown: The compressed natural gas fuel line was routed incorrectly, allowing it to chafe and damage wiring harnesses and brake lines.

  • Solution: DTNA inspected and rerouted the compressed natural gas fuel line, as necessary free of charge. All vehicles have been remedied.

Motiv

  • Recall Number: N/A

  • Vehicles: 2021-2024 F-59 vehicles equipped with a Motiv Gen 6 EPIC powertrain

  • Potential Units Affected: 55

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The high voltage battery pack may be improperly sealed and allow liquid to enter the battery.

  • Solution: Motiv worked with Our Next Energy to inspect and repair the battery packs as necessary, free of charge. All affected vehicles were repaired by November 2024.

Orange EV

  • Recall Number: 2025-SRC-05

  • Vehicles: 2023-2025 HUSK-e

  • Potential Units Affected: 20

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The wrong size washer was installed in the thermal fuse bolted joint during the previous repair.

  • Solution: OEV will install the correctly sized washer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 9, 2025.

Oshkosh

  • Recall Number: NGDV_TSB_040

  • Vehicles: 2025 NGDV

  • Potential Units Affected: 917

  • Component: Equipment

  • Breakdown: The air bag warning label on the sun visor may detach.

  • Solution: Oshkosh Defense will replace the sun visor assembly and add an electric shock warning label as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2025

Paccar

  • Recall Number: 25PACF

  • Vehicles: 2023-2026 Kenworth T380, T680, T880, Peterbilt 520, 548, 567, 579, 2024-2026 Kenworth T480, W990, Peterbilt 536, 537, 589, 2025 Kenworth T180, Peterbilt 535, 2025-2026 Kenworth T280 and L770

  • Potential Units Affected: 56,575

  • Component: Exterior lighting

  • Breakdown: The tail brake light, upper and lower beam headlights, reverse light, and turn signal may not illuminate as intended. In addition, the lift axles, if lowered, may revert to a raised position, or oscillate up and down when the signal warning lights are activated.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the VCU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 25, 2025.

Shyft Group

  • Recall Number: 25-15

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 Utilimaster Aeromaster

  • Potential Units Affected: 871

  • Component: Back over prevention, forward collision avoidance

  • Breakdown: The monitor in the 360-degree camera system may not display the correct image at start up.

  • Solution: Shyft will install an in-line circuit protector and monitor, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25-16

  • Vehicles: 2015-2025 Utilimaster Truck Body

  • Potential Units Affected: 2,785

  • Component: Electrical system, exterior lighting

  • Breakdown: The signal converter may fail, which can cause the brake lights and turn signals to become inoperative.

  • Solution: Shyft will inspect and repair the signal converter connectors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 4, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25-17

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 Blue ARC BA4L-800

  • Potential Units Affected: 150

  • Component: Parking brake

  • Breakdown: The spacer for the brake caliper may be too big, resulting in an increased air gap.

  • Solution: Shyft will replace the brake calipers, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 2025.

Supreme Corporation

  • Recall Number: N/A

  • Vehicles: 2025 Wabash truck body vehicles equipped with Waltco ZS series slide liftgates

  • Potential Units Affected: 2

  • Component: Structure

  • Breakdown: The cylinder pin in the slide liftgate may be insufficiently lubricated, which can cause the pin to seize, resulting in lift gate failure.

  • Solution: Supreme will work with HIAB USA to replace the pivot pin, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 7, 2025.

TICO

  • Recall Number: N/A

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 Pro Spotter

  • Potential Units Affected: 76

  • Component: Service brakes, air

  • Breakdown: The vehicles may be equipped with a non-DOT brake line fitting, resulting in reduced braking performance.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the fitting as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 21, 2025.
