Ram's 1500 large pickup received the Fleet Truck of the Year award for the second time since 2012, this honor was given by Automotive Fleet and Business Fleet based on fleet manager popularity.
The large pickup received the most votes by fleet managers, beating out 40 other trucks.
“This award validates the pieces that we put in place and resonates with the commercial fleets and it cascades all the way down to the end user,” said Bob Hegbloom, head of the Ram Truck brand.
Since its entrance to the segment, the Ram 1500 has undergone slight updates, added the Ecodiesel engine, and is available in various configurations including the 1500 Rebel.
For model-year 2015, the Ram 1500 is available with three engines: the 3.0L EcoDiesel, 3.6L, and 5.7L HEMI. The three engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic TorqueFlite transmission. Other fuel-saving technologies include a thermal management system, pulse-width modulation (PWM), and active aerodynamics with grille shutters and air suspension.
