Nissan's Next Chapter

Victor Taylor, currently serving as the senior director of Manufacturing Operations at the Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant in Mississippi, has been promoted to vice president, Nissan Canton.

With over two decades of engineering and manufacturing expertise, Taylor is well-positioned to lead the Canton plant through its transformation into a hub for U.S. electric vehicle production.

David Sliger, the current vice president at Nissan Canton, is appointed as the new vice president for Nissan Decherd Powertrain Operations in Tennessee.

In this role, Sliger will oversee Nissan's efforts to supply both internal combustion engines and electric powertrains for vehicles manufactured at Nissan's U.S. facilities in Tennessee and Mississippi.

Having joined Nissan in 1997, Sliger has progressively taken on roles of increasing responsibility within the company's U.S. manufacturing operations.

David Johnson, senior vice president of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management at Nissan North America, expressed confidence in the transformative leadership of Sliger and Taylor.

He emphasized their crucial roles in preparing the workforce and driving key processes to establish Nissan's factories as leaders in the evolving automotive landscape.

Both Sliger and Taylor will report to David Johnson, and their appointments will take effect on December 1.

Nissan Elevates Leaders

In the transition at Decherd, Sliger is succeeding Jeff Younginer, who is set to retire after nearly 20 years with Nissan and over three decades in the automotive industry.

Younginer previously held roles as vice president for Production Engineering and New Model Quality and vice president for Nissan Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant in Tennessee.
