We rarely recognize a tipping point while we’re in the middle of it. Think of the iPhone launch in 2007, the advent of ride-hailing in 2010, or the remote work shift caused by the pandemic.

Today, fleets are facing a similar moment. Technologies like AI, electrification, autonomy, and connectivity are converging with massive infrastructure investment, regulatory pressure, and evolving customer expectations. But which of these forces represent the next true inflection point, and which are still noise?

This Fleet Forward Conference seminar — “Mobility 360: Understanding the Tipping Point for Fleets” — will answer that question. The Tuesday morning plenary session, which will take place on Oct. 22 from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m.

In the session, panelists will explore how those forces are intersecting with capital flows, policy shifts, and operational readiness to guide the fleet industry’s strategic direction.

“This session will put the puzzle pieces together for fleets,” said Chris Brown, associate publisher of Automotive Fleet and conference chair. “Rather than focus on individual trends in isolation, the discussion will take a holistic '360-degree' view of mobility’s evolution and examine what’s moving from concept to commercial reality.”

  • Steve Greenfield, general partner at Automotive Ventures, will offer insights on how capital investment trends are shaping the mobility ecosystem and accelerating innovation in connected, electric, and autonomous technologies.

  • Matt Daus, partner at Windels Marx, president of the International Association of Transportation Regulators (IATR), and commissioner of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission when Uber launched, will provide perspective on how public policy, for-hire regulations, and government partnerships are influencing real-world adoption of emerging fleet models.

  • Mark Hazel, associate director at S&P Global Mobility, brings a data-driven perspective informed by hands-on experience across the automotive supply chain — from pricing strategy in shared mobility to product planning for light — and heavy-duty components.

  • Chris Brown, associate publisher of Automotive Fleet and chair of the Fleet Forward Conference, will moderate the discussion and include the fleet perspective.
