Kenworth TruckTech+ Remote Diagnostics introduced an extended subscription coverage option for customers who forego an extended engine warranty plan for their new Kenworth Class 8 models with Paccar MX or Cummins engines. Fleets and truck operators receive the free, Kenworth TruckTech+ Remote Diagnostics two-year base subscription upon purchase of new Kenworth Class 8 trucks.
Customers that buy an extended engine warranty plan get the remote diagnostics system subscription for the duration of extended warranty coverage.
At the time of new truck purchase, customers can order an extended subscription from their Kenworth dealer to cover from six months up to 36 months after the initial two years concludes. The subscription duration is clearly defined on the sales order for each new Kenworth Class 8 truck. This process ensures a continued, seamless Kenworth TruckTech+ Remote Diagnostics subscription – without any coverage gaps – upon the two-year base coverage expiration and transition into the extended subscription period.
Customers that opt not to buy an extended subscription at the time of their new Kenworth Class 8 truck purchase can do so at the end of the two-year base period. Those extensions also range from six months up to 36 months.
Kenworth TruckTech+ Over-the Air functionality is included with the Kenworth TruckTech+ Remote Diagnostics subscription extension for Kenworth Class 8 units powered by Paccar MX engines. The Kenworth TruckTech+ Over-The-Air system enhances uptime by offering fleet managers greater flexibility on when and where they can securely install software updates on their Paccar MX engines and aftertreatment.
To initiate updates, Kenworth customers with 2017 or later model year MX-13 and MX-11 engines must use the Paccar Over-The-Air mobile app available for download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Customers with active Kenworth TruckTech+ subscriptions can then view these updates using the Over-The-Air app or the Paccar Solutions online portal.
