Ingevity Helps Provide Access to Renewable Natural Gas
The ANG-RNG program will enable fleets that operate ANG-equipped pickup trucks and vans to use RNG, broadening access to the vehicle greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction benefits of RNG.

RNG accounts for 53% of fuel used in natural gas vehicles today, totaling 345 million gasoline gallon equivalents (GGE) in 2020 and plants such as the Charleston, S.C. one pictured are integral to that growth.

Ingevity Corporation will offer a vertically integrated alternative fueling solution providing adsorbed natural gas (ANG) vehicle customers with the opportunity to use renewable natural gas (RNG) as an alternative fuel.
The ANG-RNG program will enable fleets that operate ANG-equipped pickup trucks and vans to use RNG, broadening access to the vehicle greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction benefits of RNG, and incentivizing fleet adoption of the company’s activated carbon-based, low-pressure ANG technology.
Ingevity will manage the ANG-RNG program by sourcing RNG - a sustainable fuel produced from existing organic sources generated from landfill, agricultural, and wastewater facilities - through its strategic partner, GreenGasUSA, and accounting for the fuel use of ANG-equipped vehicles with the low-cost, low-pressure fueling appliance.
“We’re pleased to expand the ANG vehicle program to provide broad, cost-effective RNG access for operators of light-duty fleets of any size to help them overcome the major market impediments related to high-pressure compressed natural gas vehicles and stations,” said ANG managing director, Robert Friedman. “We are focused on customer-driven innovation to advance clean technology solutions and leveraging RNG as part of the ANG platform can substantially impact a fleet’s ability to reduce their environmental impact.”
RNG accounts for 53% of fuel used in natural gas vehicles today, totaling 345 million gasoline gallon equivalents (GGE) in 2020, according to the RNG Coalition. And, according to U.S. Department of Energy data, powering vehicles with RNG reduces fleet GHG emissions by 80-135% compared to gasoline and diesel vehicles and helps fleets advance sustainability objectives.
Ingevity shared that the ANG-RNG solution provides fleets of any size and location with an immediate and cost-effective pathway to GHG emissions reduction and carbon neutrality.

Turning Connected Vehicle Data Into Decisions That Matter
Fleet leaders have more data than ever, but turning that data into clear, actionable decisions remains a challenge. This white paper shows how leading organizations are using connected vehicle data to improve safety, reduce costs, and optimize fleet performance. Learn how to turn insight into action across your fleet.
Read More →Are You Tracking Your Fleet's True Total Cost of Ownership?
Bobit Business Media surveyed 190 fleet professionals and found that while most fleets are tracking costs, fragmented systems and data gaps are keeping true TCO visibility out of reach. With rising pressure to control spend in an increasingly volatile environment, the gap between what fleets think they know and what the data actually shows is wider than you might expect. See how your peers are managing costs today and where the industry still has room to improve.
