Santa Fe Overview
The all-new three-row, six/seven-passenger Santa Fe comes equipped with Hyundai's Lambda II 3.3-liter GDI V6 engine producing 290 horsepower (hp). The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and is tow rated up to 5,000 pounds.
Santa Fe has an EPA estimated 25 mpg highway fuel economy rating. (The two-row, five-passenger Santa Fe Sport was released in the second half of 2012, and more can be read about that model here.)
The three-row Santa Fe features everything found on the Santa Fe Sport plus additional premium amenities such as power liftgate and 115V power outlet. The larger Santa Fe also features standard rear-passenger HVAC controls and vents.
Santa Fe offers two second row seating configurations; a traditional bench with 40/20/40 split-folding seatback on the GLS and individual second row captain's chairs on the Limited.
To accommodate the additional third row, the Santa Fe wheelbase is 3.9-inches longer and the overall length has been extended by 8.5-inches compared to the Santa Fe Sport. Second-row legroom is increased by 1.9 inches and passenger volume increases by 38.6 cubic feet versus the Sport.
The standard 50:50 split folding third-row provides 31.5 inches of legroom. In addition to the larger size, the Santa Fe has distinct exterior styling cues including unique grille with thinner horizontal grille bars, lower fascia graphics, elongated rear window treatment, unique rear taillights and wheel designs.
