The agreement between Xcel Energy and Drive Clean Colorado helps accelerate the use of electric vehicles for fleets and consumers.

Drive Clean Colorado’s “Drive Electric Colorado” initiative will promote Xcel Energy’s consumer charging programs for workplaces, multi-family homes, and income-qualified communities.

Drive Clean Colorado and Xcel Energy announced a new working agreement on July 27 to support mutual efforts to increase consumer education and adoption of electric vehicles and charging in Colorado, according to a press release.
Highlights of the agreement include:
Drive Clean Colorado’s “Drive Electric Colorado” initiative will promote Xcel Energy’s consumer charging programs for workplaces, multi-family homes, and income-qualified communities.
Drive Electric Colorado’s free electric vehicle coaching program will further integrate Xcel Energy’s incentive programs in their individualized coaching sessions and guide buyers on how to leverage them.
Drive Electric Colorado will work alongside auto dealers in the state to train sales staff about Xcel Energy’s EV charging incentive programs.
Drive Electric Colorado will support Xcel Energy’s commercial and industrial activities for fleet and industry outreach.
Drive Electric Colorado will join Xcel Energy’s Drive Electric Experience at the Denver Auto Show Sept. 15-19, 2021, collaborating to host an electric vehicle Ride and Drive event.
“There is a lot of work to be done to accelerate the use of EVs for consumers and fleets in Colorado, and this agreement will allow us to put the pedal to the metal, so to speak, to support and educate people about EVs and EV chargers in all areas of the state,” said Bonnie Trowbridge, executive director of Drive Clean Colorado,in a statement.
Xcel Energy joins the growing ranks of sponsors of Drive Clean Colorado’s initiative, Drive Electric Colorado. Other sponsors include founding sponsors i25 Kia, Peak Kia, Phil Long Dealerships and Tynan’s Auto Group.
