General Motors has directed dealers in North America to stop delivery of 2013 and 2014 model-year Chevrolet Cruze sedans because they may have a defective driver’s-side air bag inflator, Automotive News reported.
The stop-delivery order may signal future expansion of the Takata air bag inflator recalls. Earlier this week, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a series of recalls – involving seven different automakers -- to address potentially defective air bag inflators manufactured by Takata Corp. The recalls target millions of vehicles in high-humidity regions.
