GE Capital Fleet Services has been named a winner of the CIO Web Business 50 Award from IDG's CIO magazine. The 5th annual CIO Web Business 50 Award honors 50 outstanding web sites across business, government and non-profit platforms.

"The world wide web is a crowded marketplace, but winners of the CIO Web Business 50 Award are a step above other sites," says Abbie Lundberg, editor in chief, CIO magazine. "Winning sites have combined excellence in design and functionality to create a top notch experience for their consumers, business partners and other users."

Winning sites were judged on a number of criteria including design, ease of user navigation, special features and functionality, and business value, shown by a site's ability to survive, and even thrive in a difficult business climate. CIO Web Business 50 Award judges also looked at innovation, honoring sites creating new ways to service their target market, customers or own organization.

Complete coverage of the CIO Web Business 50 Award is featured in the December 1, 2001 issue of CIO magazine and at www.cio.com.

GE Capital Fleet Services was honored for demonstrating innovation and efficiency with its secure customer Intranet, Your Office @ Fleet. The application was designed to provide customers online access to comprehensive fleet management tools, including configuring and ordering vehicles, managing fuel, maintenance and accident expenses, and sophisticated vehicle reporting to help customers better understand and manage their vehicle fleets.

"We are honored to be selected as a recipient of the CIO Web Business 50 Award," said Daniel Henson, CEO of GE Capital Fleet Services. "This award represents our ability to combine an ongoing commitment to technology with meeting the needs of our customers. Without a doubt, our success would not have been possible without their valuable support and input. We congratulate each of our customers and thank them for helping us achieve this distinguished award."

Candidates for the CIO Web Business 50 Award complete an online application form or are nominated by CIO's staff. A team of CIO editors, writers and web site managers review, evaluate and vote on the final 50 honorees.
