Ford to Restart Production at Key North American Plants

Ford aims to restart production at select plants in North America as early as April 6, according to Kumar Galhotra, Ford’s president of North America.
Should it reopen at that time, the company would introduce new safety measures to protect returning workers.
In this plan, Ford would resume production at its Hermosillo Assembly Plant on April 6 on one shift. On April 14 the company would start building vehicles at its Dearborn Truck Plant; Kentucky Truck Plant; Kansas City Assembly Plant’s Transit line; and Ohio Assembly Plant.
Additionally, in order to support these assembly plants, Ford also aims to resume production at its Dearborn Stamping Plant; Dearborn Diversified Manufacturing Plant; Integrated stamping plants within Kansas City and Kentucky Truck Plants; Sharonville Transmission Plant; and Portions of Van Dyke Transmission, Lima Engine and Rawsonville Components plants by April 14.
Galhotra noted that Ford would continue to assess public health conditions along with supplier readiness in order to adjust plans accordingly.
