Ford to Boost Production for New Pickups, EVs
Ford Motor Co. will invest more than $1.45 billion at its Michigan plants to support its next-generation Ranger midsize pickup, 2020 Bronco SUV, electrified F-150s, and other upcoming vehicles.

Ford Motor Co. will invest more than $1.45 billion at its Michigan plants to support its next-generation Ranger midsize pickup, 2020 Bronco SUV, electrified F-150s, and other upcoming vehicles, the company has announced.
Ford will invest $750 million in its Wayne facility to build the new Bronco and Ranger, as well adding a new modification center to support autonomous vehicles. That investment will create 2,700 jobs.
The company is also investing $700 million at its Dearborn manufacturing plant to support the new F-150, as well as hybrid and battery-electric variants of its pickup, and a battery assembly area. The investment will create 300 jobs.
Employees in Wayne will build Ford's first autonomous vehicle in 2021. They will install the vehicle's self-driving technology as the purpose-built interior.
