Ford Issues HVAC-Related Recall for Ford Ranger
Ford Motor Co. has issued a safety recall for 2019 Ford Ranger pickups that were previously repaired as part of safety recall 19S34.

Ford Motor Co. has issued a safety recall for 5,384 2019 Ford Ranger pickups in the U.S. that were previously repaired as part of safety recall 19S34.The issue also affects 418 Rangers in Canada.
The affected Ford Rangers had HVAC blower motors replaced from Oct. 9 to Nov. 22, 2019. The replacement part used for that service may have been built with an improper clearance between an electrical terminal and the conductive base-plate slot that could result in a resistive electrical short, according to Ford.
If a vehicle has this improper replacement part, the vehicle could have an increased risk of its HVAC blower motor overheating, melting, smoking, or causing a fire.
As part of the recall, dealers will inspect the HVAC blower-motor date code. Blowers motors built within the suspect time frame will be replaced, according to Ford.
The Ford reference number for this recall is 20S12.
As of March 11, Ford is not aware of any reports of accident, injury, or fire related to this issue.
