Ford Begins Producing 2019 Ranger Pickup
Ford Motor Co. has started building its 2019 Ranger midsize pickup in Wayne, Mich., where it will also build the future Bronco SUV, Ford has announced.

Ford Motor Co. has started building its 2019 Ranger midsize pickup in Wayne, Mich., where it will also build the future Bronco SUV, Ford has announced.
Ford has retrofitted its Michigan Assembly Plant to build the new vehicles, which will enter highly competitive segments, by investing $850 million to retool the plant. Ford will begin building the Bronco in 2020.
Earlier this year, Ford ended production of its Focus sedan at the 369-acre plant to make room for the Ranger.
The plant has been building Ford vehicles since 1957, when it started building station wagons. In 1966, Ford began building the first Bronco, which was one of the first utility vehicles to gain popularity in the decades following World War II. From 1996 to 2008, the factory's workers built Expedition and Lincoln Navigator large SUVs.
Ford has begun refreshing its vehicle lineup, and plans to replace 75% of its current North American vehicles by 2020.
