Fontaine Modification’s Springfield, Ohio, location has been approved for a bailment pool as part of the General Motors Fleet Specialty Vehicle Manufacturer program.
The pool will make it efficient for dealers to order work-ready Chevrolet Low Cab Forward, Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD trucks complete with a variety of upfit bodies and equipment.
Fontaine’s Springfield location is near the manufacturing plant where the chassis are built, which allows the trucks to remain in the factory delivery system during their time at Fontaine and through delivery. Dealers can choose the chassis, body and equipment their customers want and have the finished trucks delivered as needed, minimizing the costs of stocking, shipping, and extended lead time.
For applications where chassis modifications are required, or for custom requests, dealers can rely on Fontaine’s more than 40 years of engineering experience and expertise.
“Our bailment pool agreement with General Motors allows Fontaine to provide even greater benefits to Chevrolet commercial vehicle dealers across the United States,” says Mike Randolph, president, Fontaine Modification Work Truck and EV Solutions. “The combination of our bailment pool, ship-thru agreement, strategic location and engineering acumen provides a simple and efficient way to get ready-to-work trucks where and when they’re needed with minimal effort or expense for the dealer.”
