Rizon, the latest brand under the umbrella of Daimler Truck, specializing in all-electric medium-duty Class 4 and 5 trucks for the U.S. market, has obtained full homologation in the United States.

Rizon has secured certification from the Environmental Protection Agency and has obtained dual California Air Resource Board's (CARB) Executive Orders, ensuring compliance with the U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

The initial vehicle deliveries are scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023 through dealer networks located in California. Additionally, with CARB Executive Order certification, customers in California can benefit from a $60,000 baseline incentive per vehicle through the CARB Hybrid and Zero-emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project.

The distribution of Rizon trucks is exclusively managed by Velocity EV, a part of the Velocity Vehicle Group, a well-established name in the commercial vehicle industry with approximately 80 global outlets. Their extensive expertise positions them as leaders in the transition to electric commercial vehicles. Velocity EV will be appointing additional RIZON dealers to create a seamless network throughout the United States.

A Look at Rizon Trucks

Rizon offers a range of series-production zero-emission trucks in Classes 4 and 5, enabling customers to initiate the decarbonization of their vehicle fleets. This lineup includes four model variants: the e18L, e18M, e16L, and e16M. Rizon trucks are ideally suited for urban and last-mile deliveries, covering routes of up to 150 miles (240 km) per day.

They offer a versatile selection of configurations to accommodate each customer's unique needs, including box trucks, flatbeds, stake beds, refrigerated units, and various other body types.

These medium-duty battery-electric vehicles, falling within the Class 4 and 5 categories, exhibit GVW ranging from 15,995 to 17,995 lbs. The M size variant, equipped with two battery packs, can cover distances of 75 to 110 miles, while the L size variant, featuring three battery packs, extends the range to 110 to 155 miles.

Rizon trucks offer the flexibility of two distinct battery charging systems: the swifter DC Fast Charging (utilizing a CCS1 connector) and the more economical Level 2 AC Charging (via a J1772 connector), facilitating a seamless transition to electric mobility.
