Jim Bigelow has been promoted to senior director of enterprise fleet operations for Cox Enterprises on Jan. 14. He reports to Mark Leuenberger, assistant vice president of supply chain and fleet services.

"Jim does a great job managing internal and external relationships to make sure our fleet operates at maximum efficiency both financially and environmentally," said Leuenberger. "Cox has one of the nation's largest fleets, and Jim ensures that it is also one of the greenest fleets in the country. He is constantly implementing new programs and products that make Cox a leader in this space."

Bigelow is responsible for the full lifecycle management of Cox Enterprises' fleet, which is comprised of more than 13,500 vehicles. He oversees the purchase, configuration, up-fit, maintenance and remarketing of Cox’s vehicles nationwide. Bigelow also standardizes the fleet for optimal efficiency, manages vendor relationships and negotiates national accounts for goods and services.

He previously served as director of fleet operations for energy services company Pinnergy, director of fleet operations for DHL Express and national fleet manager for ServiceMaster. Bigelow also held a number of fleet roles at UPS, where he was employed for 20 years.

He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and was named to Green Fleet magazine’s Sustainability All Stars list in 2014. While serving in the U.S. Navy, Bigelow obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration.

In related news, Cox Enterprises announced on Jan. 14 that Jeff Hilton has been promoted to director of enterprise fleet business operations, effective immediately. He reports to Bigelow.

"This role requires the flexibility to meet our company’s changing business needs and the ability to collaborate well across multiple divisions," said Bigelow. "Jeff does both of these masterfully. He works closely with our field leadership to ensure they have the vehicles needed to deliver exceptional customer service and business operations."

He is responsible for the acquisition, allocation and management of Cox's fleet, which is comprised of vehicles in 70 locations. He also participates in the deployment of fleet procedures and policies, as well as the selection of fleet vehicles and equipment.

Hilton joined Cox Communications, the company’s broadband communications and entertainment subsidiary, in 1992 and served as a network operations manager and northeast regional fleet director. He most recently served as Cox Enterprises' senior manager of fleet operations.

He received a degree in business management from Roger Williams University. While at Cox Communications, Hilton received internal Leader of the Year and Vision awards. He actively volunteers with Habitat for Humanity.
