Chrysler Group reported that its Five Star dealers posted a record May with Certified Pre-owned Vehicle (CPOV) sales rising 28 percent to 10,176 units. Year-to-date sales also increased 14 percent to 50,539 units, establishing the company’s best year-to-date sales ever. Helping to boost May numbers to record highs, Chrysler PT Cruiser sales increased 74 percent and Jeep® Liberty sales rose 40 percent for the month. Chrysler brand posted an impressive 49 percent increase to 3,775 units, Jeep brand maintained a healthy 26 percent increase to 2,235 units and the Dodge brand increased 15 percent to 4,166 units, versus May 2005 sales. Five Star dealers have an excellent supply of CPO vehicles available. As a result, March-April-May 2006 sales of 32,795 units increased 15 percent over the previous best 90-day sales period for CPO vehicles, set in February-March-April 2005 with 28,463 units.
