Chevin Announces PDA Enhancements to FleetWave
FleetWave provides remote PDA capture of business critical fleet data such as vehicle inspections, trip details, personal/business mileage and accident reporting. Chevin Fleet Solutions has recently extended the robust capabilities of their web-based fleet management information system, FleetWave, to enable real-time remote input of business critical fleet information. Utilizing any wireless device with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, drivers, supervisors, mechanics or any authorized individual can remotely update vehicle safety inspections, trip details, personal and/or business mileage as well as complete accident details from anywhere at any time. Leveraging FleetWave’s uniquely flexible architecture, drivers can utilize their PDA or Smartphone to perform vehicle circle inspections, notifying supervisors or shop personnel of any safety related defects while maintaining and displaying inspection histories should the need ever arise. Supporting FleetWave’s integrated personal and business mileage management tools, drivers can capture, maintain and report their daily, weekly or monthly mileages as well as fleet related expenses directly from their PDA or Smartphone. With this flexible technology, drivers can capture and report comprehensive accident and incident details while in the field, allowing drivers to more accurately document all pertinent information to insure correct and timely reporting. Using standard FleetWave development tools, Chevin can quickly and easily create and deploy customer specific remote management functionality to any Windows enabled device. Ron Katz, Vice President of North American Sales for Chevin commented, “Fleet managers now have the ability to free themselves from paper intensive documentation and manage their fleet through information rather than instinct. By pushing mandatory driver documentation directly to the driver, our clients can eliminate redundant data entry while significantly enhancing accuracy of driver data and compliance monitoring. With FleetWave in place, flexibility such as this comes standard.” Chevin Fleet Solutions is a global provider of dedicated fleet management solutions. Chevin developed the world’s first true web-based fleet management system, FleetWave in 2000, as well as pioneering revolutionary touch screen and bar-coding systems to make fleet and workshop operations simpler and more controllable. Meanwhile Chevin continues to market its class-leading ‘desk-top’ RoadBASE package, aimed at small to mid-sized fleets.
