Merritt Applications, Inc., a software development and services company, announced December 6th that it has signed a long-term agreement with CEI, a provider of auto claim and risk management services to fleets, leasing companies, and insurers. CEI currently markets Merritt Applications' web-based fleet safety program, eFleetManager, under the name CEI-Protect. The program continually monitors drivers' motor vehicle and accident records, identifies high-risk drivers, and automatically pushes driver-customized eLearning to them through the Internet. Under the agreement, Merritt Applications will continue to develop and support the technology.

According to Wayne Smolda, chief executive officer of CEI, "This alliance makes excellent strategic sense for both companies, providing CEI with the opportunity to launch CEI-Protect, cutting-edge web-based safety technology. It fits perfectly with the premium accident and risk management we've provided for years. CEI-Protect enables us to offer a complete end-to-end safety solution to our customers."

"We're excited to bring CEI-Protect to the leading pharmaceutical, chemical/petroleum, railroad, cosmetics and consumer products fleets and insurers CEI serves so well."

About eFleetManager

eFleetManager (www.efleetmanager.com) is a database-driven Internet technology that enables fleet organizations to better manage the safety of their fleet drivers proactively and in real time. eFleetManager offers a 24/7 system that provides automatic safety monitoring to fleets. eFleetManager offers: MVR and accident reporting, grading of driver experience, business rule analysis of drivers, email alerts and communication, Internet-delivered safety training and complete reporting and archiving. Driver data is analyzed based on the fleet's own business and safety rules. Fleets have the ability to incorporate their company and fleet organization's existing safety policies in the system or combine them with system default procedures.

The system responds automatically to new driver experiences. Actions include the notification of drivers about eLearning requirements, and alerts to managers and fleet administrators to enable them to address developments quickly. The system can be set-up to alert the driver of new safety policies and broadcast safety training. Each driver has the ability to logon via a web browser and access their online driving record, review educational materials, take tests and review safety rules. A system administrator can generate reports, review information and manage the system. eFleetManager has been designed to enable organizations to identify high-risk drivers, reduce crash incidents and minimize liability.
