British Fleet Drivers Favor German Cars

Survey finds that one third of company car drivers prefer German makers, four out of the top five company cars in the UK are German.

Lex Vehicle Leasing research indicates that one in every three British company car drivers would like to drive a German vehicle, according to Easier.com. Fifty-three percent of British drivers prefer cars built in the UK, Japanese cars are preferred by about a quarter of drivers, and American cars are chosen by 17 percent. Lex, which provides 178,000 vehicles to British businesses, reveals that four out of the top five company cars on UK roads are German, with the Audi A4 the most popular company car in the country. The Volkswagen Golf is second most popular, followed by Vauxhall’s Astra (the only British-made vehicle in the top five), BMW’s 3 Series and the VW Passat. Lex Managing Director Jon Walden notes that the prestige and quality of German cars are likely factors in their popularity.
