BellSouth and Navigation Technologies Enhance Realpages.com Maps and Landmark Searches

Navigation Technologies, a provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation, Internet/wireless and business applications, announced May 28 that BellSouth RealPages.com, an online yellow page provider, will incorporate the use of Navtech digital map data into the RealPages.com web site (RealPages.com). Navtech says its map data is unique for its accurate representation of real world driving conditions (turn restrictions, dividers and barriers, traffic flow direction, etc.), street network geometry and addressing capabilities. BellSouth will use Navtech digital map data to enhance its ability to accurately pinpoint businesses on maps for consumers, as well as provide yellow page searches by landmark. "With Navigation Technologies, we found technology that could enhance the quality of our mapping and search functionality," said Charles Stubbs, president, BellSouth Intelligent Media Ventures, LLC, a subsidiary of BellSouth Advertising and Publishing Corporation.
