AlertDriving.com is pleased to announce the expansion of its web-based defensive driver training courseware for commercial trucking. The program already targets the main crash causes facing fleets today. Two new modules have recently been added, ‘Defensive Backing Strategies’ and ‘Drowsy Driving’. The module expansion was in response to customer requests for additional truck training for their fleets. The importance of proper training is paramount. About one in eight traffic fatalities resulting from a collision, involve a truck. AlertDriving’s Commercial Truck Training program has been specifically designed with custom video content. The program is also fully integrated into AlertDriving’s enterprise class fleet risk management platform. This allows companies to manage, track and report on all of their fleets; commercial trucks, service vans, large passenger vehicles and cars. The Commercial Truck Training program outlines the higher level of responsibility a professional driver must assume. It emphasizes preventability rather than fault. It also includes the fundamental elements of defensive driving and explains the idea that the driver is a manager of space and vehicle control. Some of the other topics covered include; the importance of pre-trip vehicle inspections and emphasizes the value of inspection routines, spotting and avoiding hazards, proper mirror placement, emergency maneuvers and driving in adverse weather conditions. Plus, it looks at the technological features of trucks, such as airbrakes and anti-lock braking systems. For more information on this product, visit www.AlertDriving.com or call 1-877-867-6642.
