The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has updated its Green Vehicle Guide Web site to include 2002 model year vehicles. The Guide features the emissions and fuel economy of recent model year cars and trucks and ranks them against others in their class. EPA says it has developed the Web site to allow consumers to: - Look up the emissions and fuel economy of recent model year cars and trucks - Compare the environmental performance of similar vehicles - Learn about the connection between vehicles and global warming Tailpipe emissions from cars, trucks, and other mobile sources account for 1/3 of the total air pollution in the U.S. One of the most important things consumers can do to reduce their contribution to air pollution is to buy a vehicle with higher fuel economy that emits less pollution. EPA developed this online resource to help consumers do their part to improve air quality by choosing low-emission, fuel-efficient vehicles. The Green Vehicle Guide helps consumers make more environmentally-informed choices when purchasing a vehicle by allowing them to identify the cleanest, most fuel-efficient vehicle that meets their needs.
