The 2016 model-year fleet preview for Volkswagen and Audi was held May 18-20, 2015, at the newly opened $100-million Porsche headquarters in Atlanta.
Fleet managers had a chance to preview new models from Volkswagen and Audi and test them at the facility’s Porsche Experience Center, which featured a 1.6-mile track that included a handling circuit, off-road course, and the only kickplate in North America designed to demonstrate the engineering and technological capabilities of VW and Audi products.
More than 180 fleet managers and fleet suppliers attended the two-day event. A presentation on VW’s fleet business was given by Chris Hoehner, general manager, corporate sales for Volkwagen of America.
Attendees were updated on Audi’s fleet strategy by Tony Trapalis, corporate sales manager for Audi of America. The evening dinner and networking event was held at the nearby Delta Flight Museum.
The VW and Audi fleet preview attendees were the first to “break-in” the track since the Porsche Experience Center would not be open to the public until June 2, 2015. Porsche is a sister company to Volkswagen of America and Audi of America.
