The 2014 model-year Chrysler Group fleet preview was held June 17-19, 2013, at the historic Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo. More than 350 fleet professionals attended the event where Chrysler revealed a variety of new products, including the 2014 Ram ProMaster full-size van, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee SUV, and the 25 mpg Ram 1500.
Also in 2014, Chrysler Group will offer two “firsts” for the auto industry, a new 9-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive-based 4x4 system with rear-axle disconnect. In addition, it introduced four new engines, including a new 6.4L HEMI V-8; a new 3.0L EcoDiesel V-6, slated for the 2014 Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee; a new 3.2L Pentastar V-6, which is derived from the 3.6L Pentastar; and a new 3.0L EcoDiesel I-4 commercial truck engine.
Another new system introduced on the Ram Heavy Duty is an all-new five-link coil rear suspension system, which allows the Ram 2500 pickup to tow up to 17,940 pounds of cargo.
