DETROIT – On Thanksgiving morning, an estimated 50 million viewers will tune in to watch the 86th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Among the larger-than-life balloons and marching bands, more than 50 GMC trucks, SUVs and crossovers will tow the towering floats for the 32nd straight year the official truck of the parade.

In 2011, the dozens of GMC vehicles involved in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade included this Yukon Denali SUV.
“There couldn’t be a better opportunity than the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for GMC to demonstrate its engineering and capability on a big stage,” said Craig Bierley, director of GMC Advertising and Promotions. “This event, this holiday, and GMC all share a long and proud history of American tradition.”
Long before dawn, a fleet of 55 GMC vehicles will head to work in Manhattan. They include two new 2013 Acadia Denali midsize crossovers, 13 Sierra full-size pickups, plus 40 Yukon and Yukon XL full-size SUVs, including Denali and Hybrid models.
“We are extremely proud of our 32-year relationship with GMC that annually helps us present our magical floats to the nation,” said Amy Kule, executive producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “We look forward to the fleet of GMC’s taking to the streets of New York City bringing with them Macy’s amazing theatrical stages that together are set to dazzle millions of spectators.”
GMC will share live updates and photos from the parade on its Twitter and Instagram Channels at @ThisIsGMC. Photos also will be available later on GMC’s Facebook and Google+ pages.
