For increased safety, JLG will not offer a Positive Air Shut Off system to precent diesel engines from having runaway situations. The new system will be available on the company's telehandlers and boom lifts.

The optional system reduces the risk of potential engine damage by blocking the engine air intake system, cutting off the uncontrolled external fuel source and the air required to keep the engine running. This is ideal for applications where flammable materials could be potentially drawn into the air intake system.

Positive Air Shut Off also provides emergency overspeed shutdown protection for diesel engines.
